Creating Night Scenes

:crescent_moon: Feature Idea: Night-Mode Background for DrawHome

I’d love to see an option in DrawHome that allows us to switch the background to a night scene. Sometimes when designing exterior lighting, patios, or landscape accents, it helps to visualize how the home looks after dark.

Why this could help:

  • Perfect for testing exterior lights, window glow, and ambience.

  • Helps with marketing shots or mood boards.

  • Provides a more immersive environment when sharing homes on social media or Sketchfab.

  • Useful for users designing cabins, modern homes, or resort-style builds that look better at night.

Possible features:

  • Toggle between Day / Evening / Night backgrounds.

  • Optional stars, moon, or subtle sky gradient.

  • Ambient lighting adjustments that automatically dim the scene.

Would love to hear what others think or if this could be added to the roadmap!

Hi Ellen, thanks so much for the great suggestion! :crescent_moon:

A night-mode background is a fantastic idea, especially for showcasing exterior lighting, window glow, and those cozy evening moods. We’ve heard similar requests from a few users, so it’s definitely something we’re reviewing for the roadmap.

I’ve added your idea to our internal feature list so the team can explore how best to implement:

  • A night-sky environment

  • Automatic ambient-light adjustments

  • Maybe even a dusk/evening slider in the future

We’ll update the community as soon as we have more details.
Thanks again for helping make DrawHome better! :raising_hands:
